I made this petticoat out of a soft old sheet that had a bit of a shine to it. I kept the design simple — the skirt is a rectangle that was gathered and sewn into a fitted waistband, with a ruffle on the bottom. I like the look enough that I might make an outer skirt with the same design.
Since this is an undergarment, I kept the closure simple: two fabric covered buttons with thread loops. I figure that it doesn’t matter if there is some gaping, so I went with what was quick while still being decorative.
