My Lover has a blanket that his mother had made many, many years ago, and it was starting to show its age. Some of the fabrics used to make the blanket were disintegrating, so I made a project out of repairing it.
I hand stitched patches on over the holes, and it took a surprising amount of time. The baby became a lot more needy while I was working on this, so at one point it felt like I was never going to get this done. This blanket was batted with wool, and the back was made out of old velvet theater curtains, making this the heaviest blanket that I have ever come across.
