Product Review – Paul Mitchell Hairspray

I recently went to the local beauty supply store and told them, “I need hairspray that holds!” I have fine hair that slips out of everything after a couple of hours, especially in dry climates (like where I currently live), and most of the hairsprays that I’ve tried in the past only work for a little while before turning into an unpleasant and sticky mess. The girl recommended that I try Paul Mitchell Firm Style.

Sunday morning I styled my hair and used the spray. I was happy to find that it didn’t have that classic overpowering stench of hairspray, so I could still be around people without offending them. Then, with my hair styled up, I went out boating with some extended family members.

The person who owns the boat has a serious need for speed, and with two engines on the back he could get that thing going quite fast — fast enough that the wind would come close to ripping off your clothes if you let it. I didn’t dare turn my head to look around for fear that the wind would snatch my glasses right off and hurl them into the lake, never to be seen again.

At the end of the day I came home, looked in the mirror, and found that my hair just about looked the same as it did that morning — it didn’t look wind-blown at all. That was some damn good hairspray.

The best part is that I can get a refill at the local beauty supply store for much, much cheaper than the original purchase price. That’s pretty awesome.
