A nasty turn of fate landed us homeless for about three months, so that’s where I’ve been. There’s not a lot of sewing that can be done while one is living out of a car, considering that there are other, more pressing, matters to be dealt with. Like, you know, surviving.

My collar! I used simple black cotton fabric, hand-embroidered the border, and made the string with all-purpose black thread, crocheted into a chain, then crocheted again into a thicker chain (I forgot to tame the thread ends before taking this picture).
This is one of two projects that I spent most of my homeless time fantasizing about.
